Kent Police officers are appealing for information following a report of a potential assault on a woman in Maidstone.

Kent Police was called at 10pm on Saturday 23 October 2021, to a disturbance in an open air car park next to Mote Road and Chancery Lane.

It is reported that two men and a woman were involved in an altercation, after which they all left in a vehicle. The vehicle was described as a small car, possibly a Fiat 500.

Detective Sergeant Richard Crowhurst said: ‘An incident was witnessed, where a woman may have been in distress and subjected to an assault. It is unclear at this stage whether what has been reported may be a misunderstanding, or if any offences have taken place.

‘Our officers have made a number of initial checks including house-to-house and CCTV enquiries and we are working to identify who the people were in this car and where they may have been headed. We are urging those involved to contact us, in order we can establish the full circumstances.

‘We are also asking anyone else who may live nearby, or who was travelling in the area, to check CCTV systems or dashcams which may provide important information.’
