A teenage boy has been charged with multiple offences following an assault in Canterbury.

Kent Police was called at 2.52am on Saturday 23 October 2021 following a report of an assault in Victoria Row.

A woman in her 20s had sustained an injury consistent with a stab wound and she was taken to a London hospital, from where she has since been discharged.

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent, using threatening or abusive words or behaviour, possession of cannabis, possession of a knife and affray.

The suspect, who is from the Whitstable area and cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Monday 25 October and was remanded in custody to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on Monday 22 November.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the incident and are appealing for anyone who witnessed what happened, or who has CCTV or dashcam footage which may assist, to call 01843 222289, quoting reference 46/212847/21.
