Dover District Council’s Cabinet has agreed that the Council will be offering free parking in its car parks for Small Business Saturday on 4 December, as well as from 23-28 December 2021 and 1-3 January 2022, as we continue to work to support local businesses.

Small Business Saturday is designed to raise the profile of small businesses across the UK. With many retailers now gearing up for the festive season, DDC wants more people to recognise the value, quality and choice local independent traders provide.

On-street parking charges will still apply. It should also be noted that all other parking restrictions, like yellow lines, will continue to be enforced throughout the district.

Cllr Martin Bates, DDC Cabinet Member for Transport, Licensing and Regulatory Services, said: “We are very pleased to offer free Christmas parking and free parking for Small Business Saturday, to continue to support local businesses, and to help us promote shopping in the district’s town centres. This initiative has had a positive impact in previous years, and we are pleased to continue this.”
