A burglary took place at a commercial premises in Church Lane, Seasalter between 5.30pm on Sunday 19 December and 8.50am the following morning.

Fruit machines were damaged and emptied and a safe was stolen.

Inspector Guy Thompson from Canterbury Community Safety Unit said: ‘Enquiries are ongoing into this burglary and we would like to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area.

‘I also want to take this opportunity to remind businesses across the district to ensure they are leaving premises as secure as possible while they take a well-earned rest during the Christmas period. Ensure your alarms and CCTV systems are working and you know how to access them if needed.

‘Don’t keep any cash on the premises unless strictly necessary and keep all valuable items out of sight.’
