A suspected drug dealer was due to appear in court following his arrest in Goudhurst.

At around 9.45pm on Tuesday 11 January 2022, officers from the Tunbridge Wells Community Policing Team stopped a car in Rope Walk.

Suspecting the driver was involved in the supply of drugs, they searched him and his car.

Seized

The constables recovered a packet of cocaine from down the side of the driver’s seat, a mobile phone and a satellite phone.

The suspect was arrested and, when a property was also searched, a quantity of heroin and additional cash was located.

Charged

A man from Goudhurst was later charged with possession of cocaine with intent to supply, possession of heroin with intent to supply, possession of criminal property, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and driving without insurance.

The 40-year-old was remanded in custody to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 13 January.
