A man has been charged with attempted murder following an assault in Rochester.

A man aged 19, was arrested after an incident in The Tideway where the victim suffered multiple stab wounds.

Kent Police was called at 6.37pm on Tuesday 18 January 2022, to a report that a man had been assaulted in an area close to a communal entrance for flats.

Officers and the South East Coast Ambulance Service attended and the victim, aged in his 20s, was taken to a London hospital. He remains in a stable condition.

Mr Devlin, of Stock Close, Rochester was arrested at around 4am on Wednesday 19 January.

He was later charged with attempted murder and remanded in custody to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 20 January.

A 54-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been released pending further investigation.
