Witnesses are being sought following a fatal collision near Sandwich.

Kent Police was called at 6.52am on Monday 24 January 2022 following a report that a man had been found injured beside the A257 near Ash.

Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service and an 80-year-old man was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Following enquiries, officers believe the man was a pedestrian who was involved in a collision with a black BMW at around 6.45am.

The vehicle was not at the scene when officers arrived, but a woman has since been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Dashcam

Enquiries are ongoing and Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or who was in the area at that time and has dashcam footage that may assist their investigation.
