On Friday 18 March 2022, a man in his 30s and woman in her 20s were sitting in a car in Farnol Road, when they were approached by a male and female on foot.

The male is then reported to have used a stun gun on the male victim’s leg through the open car window during an attempt to steal his mobile phone. Both he and the female ran from the scene pursued by the victim.

Description

The male suspect is described as being white, around 30 years old, five feet and eleven inches tall, of medium build and with untidy mousey-blond hair. He was wearing an all-black tracksuit.

The female who was stood with the male suspect is described as white, in her 30s, around five feet five inches tall and of slim build. She had light brown hair which was tied up in a bun. She was wearing a grey and pink tracksuit with a grey beanie hat.

The female victim, who is in her 20s, remained in the car which was then damaged by three further men, who are reported to have struck the vehicle with metal poles.

These men, described as wearing dark clothing and balaclavas, are said to have pursued the woman on foot as she drove off, further attacking her vehicle on Keyes Road.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Martin Stevens said, ‘This was unprovoked attack on a man and a woman who did not know their assailants and it is fortunate that neither was seriously harmed. We are urging anyone who witnessed the incidents, that has not yet spoken to the police, to contact our appeal line.

‘We are also asking drivers with dashcam and residents with private CCTV or doorbell cameras to check for footage that may assist our investigation.’

Two teenage boys were arrested following the incident and later released pending further investigation.
