To mark the start of Armed Forces Week, flag raising ceremonies are being organised around the country to raise the Armed Forces Day flag on Monday 20 June – including a ceremony at Sandwich Guildhall.

The Chairman of Dover District Council, Cllr Mike Conolly, and The Right Worshipful the Mayor of Sandwich, Cllr Jeffrey Franklin, will be hosting a short event outside the Sandwich Guildhall at 10.15am.

Events are being held to mark the lead up to national Armed Forces Day on Saturday 25 June. The day is an annual opportunity for the nation to show support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community.

For more information on the ceremony outside the Sandwich Guildhall, please contact the Chairman’s Office at DDC by emailing chairmanoffice@dover.gov.uk, or for more details on Armed Forces Day, please see the Armed Forces Day website at www.armedforcesday.org.uk.
