Shortly after 10.30pm on Tuesday 7 February 2023, Kent Police was called to a report of a disturbance at Marine Terrace in Margate.

Police arrived at the scene and were told that a man had been assaulted by a group of men at the shelter near the roundabout leading to the town’s railway station. The victim was taken to hospital with facial injuries.

Four men, aged between 21 and 38, were arrested on suspicion of assault and remain in custody while enquiries continue.

Officers are also appealing to anyone who witnessed an earlier fracas in and around the Promenade Brewers Fayre restaurant in Station Approach.

That incident took place at around 9.45pm and is being treated as potentially linked to the later assault.
