On Sunday 12 February 2023, a motorist parked his Ford Fiesta in Stuart Road and, on his return, found a side window had been damaged and his wallet was missing from inside.
The victim later found bank cards from the wallet had allegedly been used to make fraudulent purchases at shops in the town on the same day.
Arrest
The incident was reported to the police and officers investigating the incidents arrested a man in Wrotham Road on Tuesday 14 February.
On the following day, a 40-year-old man of no fixed address, was charged with theft and seven counts of fraud.
He appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court where he was remanded to a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday 20 February
