Kent Fire and Rescue Service crews rushed to a fire at The Cod Father Fish Bar on Cherry Tree Avenue in Dover just after 1.30pm on 1 April.

Upon arrival, it was apparent the fire had begun to spread to the flat above.

Two fire engines and a height vehicle attended, and crews wearing breathing apparatus tackled the fire on both floors with hose reel jets and main jets.

Kent Police also attended, along with the KFRS Volunteer Response Team to provide support to the occupants.

The cause of the fire is believed to be linked to oil catching alight in the fish bar kitchen.

Crews left the premises just after 8.00pm.
