A teenage boy has been arrested on suspicion of a serious assault in Westgate.

Kent Police officers have been appealing for information since the incident, which took place between 5pm and 5.45pm on Tuesday 7 February 2023.

The victim, a man in his seventies, was assaulted after confronting a group of young people who were found in the communal area of a residential building in Canterbury RoadWestgate.

The victim sustained head and foot injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Boy matched description

On Friday 7 April 2023, patrols were called to reports of anti-social behaviour in the same place. On arrival they spoke to a 15-year-old boy who matched the description of one of the suspects for the assault.

The teen was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and has been released on police bail whilst enquiries continue.
