Kent Police have reported that on Sunday 25 February 2024, a man who was walking in Alma Street, Sheerness at around 2pm was approached by a person he knew and was allegedly assaulted.

Police say the victim suffered injuries consistent with stab wounds and was taken to hospital for medical attention. He has since been discharged.

Around two hours later officers arrested a man who was taken into custody. Later the same day the Crown Prosecution Service authorised a charge of attempted murder and threats to kill against a local man. The 49-year-old suspect from Sheerness, was due to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 27 February.
