Police in Swanley have detained a 30-year-old woman from Edmonton, Greater London, following a robbery incident involving a senior citizen. The theft occurred near London Road at approximately 1:30 pm on Tuesday, April 2, 2024.
It’s reported that the victim, a woman in her 70s, was forcefully robbed of her gold chain by a person who had earlier interacted with her outside an Orpington supermarket under the guise of charity work.
The suspect was apprehended shortly after the incident and is currently being held on suspicion of robbery. The investigation continues as police investigate any connection between the two encounters on the day of the crime.
