On Tuesday 2 April 2024, officers from the Thanet Neighbourhood Task Force arrested a 30-year-old man and charged him in connection with a series of shoplifting incidents across Thanet.

A man whose last known address remains elusive, found himself in the crosshairs of the Thanet Neighbourhood Task Force. Their relentless pursuit culminated in his arrest.

Sixteen counts of shoplifting now hang over the suspect’s head, casting a shadow on his alleged spree. The charges stem from a string of thefts at a Garlinge petrol station store between November 1, 2023, and March 14, 2024. The stolen loot, valued at £934, included meats, ready meals and spirits.

He stands accused of stealing protein powder worth £47 from a store on Enterprise Road, Margate (November 17, 2023),  £46 worth of meat from a High Street supermarket in Broadstairs (January 11, 2024), and making off with a stylish pair of trainers and cozy socks valued at £65 from a shop in the same Broadstairs area (February 25, 2024).

He has been remanded and was set to appear before the Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, April 3.
