Kent Police detectives investigating a series of burglaries across the county have charged five men with conspiracy offences.
Between Wednesday 20 March and Monday 15 April 2024, multiple vehicles were reported stolen during break-ins at locations including Medway, Maidstone, Tonbridge and New Romney.
On Monday 15 April, two cars were stopped by police officers as they travelled towards Chatham and five men were arrested. An investigation is being led by the Kent Crime Squad and the suspects have all been charged with conspiracy to steal motor vehicles and conspiracy to burgle. They include
- A man aged 29 from Ashford
- A man aged 24, from Sittingbourne
- A man aged 33, from Ashford
- A man aged 31, from Cranbrook
- A man aged 23, from Maidstone
The suspects all appeared before Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 18 April where they were remanded into custody. Their next hearing will be at Maidstone Crown Court on 17 May.
