A suspect has appeared in court following reports of attempted robberies in Sheerness at the same shop in The Broadway, during the afternoon and evening on Tuesday 10 December 2024.
It’s alleged a teenage boy entered the premises twice and reportedly threatened shop workers while making demands for cash from the till but on both occasions the suspect was challenged by staff and customers before leaving empty-handed.
Kent Police was called after the second incident and patrols visited an address where a teenager was arrested. The 17 year old was later charged with two counts of attempted robbery and assault. He was remanded in custody to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 12 December.
