A suspected cocaine dealer has been held following a police operation in Swale.
On Sunday, December 29th, officers stopped a VW Passat in the Avenue of Remembrance in Sittingbourne, suspecting the driver of drug-related activity. During the stop, the driver was detained for a search, and his mobile phone was seized.
Enter Police Dog Charlie: The canine officer was brought in to thoroughly examine the vehicle. Charlie’s keen nose led to the discovery of a cigarette packet hidden behind a door panel. Inside, officers found 25 individual deals of suspected cocaine.
The driver was subsequently arrested. A subsequent search of a residence in the Sittingbourne area yielded further evidence, including £1,710 in cash, a quantity of cannabis, and additional bags of white powder.
A man aged 26 from Sittingbourne, was charged with being concerned in the supply of cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to supply, and possession of cannabis with intent to supply. He appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, December 31st, and was remanded in custody.
He is scheduled to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on January 27th for a further hearing.
