Get ready to make a splash! Dover District Council’s Cabinet is about to decide the fate of Deal’s thrilling new leisure centre. With the current lease ending soon, DDC is diving headfirst into exciting new plans for a state-of-the-art facility.

Imagine a sparkling new pool with a whopping six lanes, perfect for serious swimmers and leisurely laps. But that’s not all! Prepare for inflatable pool fun and a splashing good time at the dedicated toddler splash pad.

DDC is also proposing expansion of the fitness options with a larger gym and a variety of exciting fitness studios. They’ve been busy listening to residents’ feedback and are incorporating their wishes into these incredible plans.

While Tides Leisure Centre may be closing its doors soon, DDC is working hard to ensure the Sports Hall and Indoor Tennis Centre remain open for residents to enjoy. This is a major step forward for Deal, and DDC is committed to delivering a world-class leisure centre that the community will love. Stay tuned for the exciting announcement from the Cabinet meeting on January 13th!

Cllr Kevin Mills, Leader of DDC, said:

“Following the decision in July to move to the next stage of development for this major project, we’re very pleased to have been able to listen to the views of local communities, and to be considering this matter again at our Cabinet meeting in January. We’ve been working hard over the last two years to deliver the new leisure centre despite previous concerns over its affordability, to listen to what people want for the future, and to move forward with modern facilities for residents and visitors.”
