Two men have been arrested and bailed after police seized knives, a ninja star, and a significant quantity of cannabis in Ashford early Tuesday morning.

Officers from the Ashford Local Policing Team spotted a suspicious vehicle pulling onto Church Road around midnight on March 18th. Upon further investigation, they discovered the vehicle had collided with a wall, and the occupants had fled. Ashford CCTV operators quickly provided a description of one man, wearing a grey tracksuit, seen running into a nearby street and placing an item into a parked van. A second man was also identified at the driver’s side of the original vehicle.

Police swiftly located the man matching the CCTV description on Magazine Road, where he was detained. A subsequent search of the van revealed a large knife, a ninja star weapon, scales, grinders, and laundry bags containing a substantial amount of cannabis plants.

Both men were arrested on suspicion of supplying cannabis, possession of offensive weapons, and driving without insurance. They have since been released on bail pending further investigation.
