Two more people have been charged in connection with a violent burglary that occurred in Coxheath, near Maidstone, leaving one man with life-changing injuries. This development brings the total number of people facing charges in the case to eight.

Emergency services were called to a residential address near Heath Road just after 8:10 PM on December 23, 2024. Reports indicated a group of individuals had forced entry into the property. It is alleged that the intruders assaulted two occupants with a metal bar and a bladed weapon before stealing a watch and fleeing the scene in two vehicles.

Responding officers conducted a search of the area, leading to the seizure of a knife and a crowbar. Both victims, men in their 40s, were taken to the hospital. One sustained serious injuries to his head and arm, while the other was treated for a serious head injury.

The ongoing investigation has seen eight men and two women arrested between December 31, 2024, and March 3, 2025.

On Monday, June 2, 2025, and Tuesday, June 3, 2025, a woman in her early twenties from the Rochester area and a man in his early twenties from Chatham were charged with aggravated burglary. Both have been released on conditional bail and are scheduled to appear at Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on July 8.

Six individuals had previously been charged with aggravated burglary in connection with the incident. These include:

  • Three men, aged in their late twenties and early forties, from Chatham.
  • A man in his mid-twenties from Chatham.
  • A man in his early twenties from Gillingham.
  • A man in his early twenties from Rainham.

One of these individuals has since pleaded guilty and remains in custody awaiting a sentencing hearing. The other five previously charged individuals are currently being held in custody by magistrates and are awaiting a trial set to begin at Maidstone Crown Court on September 1.

A woman in her sixties who was arrested in connection with the incident has since been released without charge.
