Kent Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a fatal road traffic collision that occurred in Kemsley, near Sittingbourne. The incident took place on Swale Way at approximately 10:10 am on Wednesday, 25 February 2026.
Investigators established that a red Ford Fusion was travelling northwest toward the A249 when the vehicle crossed into the opposite carriageway while on the bridge over Milton Creek. This resulted in a collision with a white Mercedes lorry traveling in the opposite direction. Emergency patrols and the South East Coast Ambulance Service arrived at the scene shortly after, where a man in his 50s was tragically confirmed deceased. Officers have confirmed that his next of kin have been informed.
The Serious Collision Investigation Unit is currently conducting an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the crash. Officers are urging anyone who witnessed the collision, saw either vehicle in the moments leading up to the incident, or possesses relevant dashcam footage to come forward.
