Firefighters were called to a house fire on Kingston Crescent in Chatham during the early hours of Monday morning. Kent Fire and Rescue Service arrived on the scene at 01:57 with four fire engines to tackle the blaze.
Equipped with breathing apparatus, crews entered the property and worked for over two hours to extinguish the flames using a combination of high-pressure hose reel jets and main jets. The incident was successfully brought under control by 04:24.
During the operation, three people were treated for smoke inhalation and handed over to the care of South East Coast Ambulance Service paramedics. While a formal investigation into the origin of the fire is ongoing, officials currently believe the cause to be accidental.
