Emergency crews successfully freed an individual from a vehicle following a collision on Faussett Hill in Street End. Kent Fire and Rescue Service responded to the scene with three fire engines after receiving reports of the incident yesterday, 3 April 2026, shortly before 11am.

Upon arrival, firefighters used a suite of specialist equipment to free the casualty. This involved the use of hydraulic spreaders, rams, and cutting tools—often referred to as the “Jaws of Life”, to navigate the wreckage. To ensure the safety of both the casualty and the rescuers, crews first secured the vehicle using stabilisation blocks, chocks, and braces to prevent any shifting during the cutting process.

Once the individual was safely released from the vehicle, they were immediately passed into the care of South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) paramedics for medical assessment and stabilized before being transported to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford.

The scene was eventually left in the hands of Kent Police, who managed the remaining duty of care and recovery operations at 11.30am.
