Kent Fire and Rescue Service rushed to a residential property on Coombe Valley Road in Dover yesterday afternoon, 8 April 2026, following reports of a fast-moving fire.
Two fire engines arrived on the scene at 14:44 to find a garden fire that had begun to spread into the home.
Crews equipped with breathing apparatus used high-pressure hose reel jets to battle the flames and prevent further damage to the home. During the operation, firefighters provided immediate first aid to one individual who suffered burns to their arm.
Two other people were evaluated for smoke inhalation as a precaution. All three were subsequently handed over to the care of South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) paramedics for further treatment.
While the fire is believed to have originated in the garden before reaching the house, the exact cause remains under investigation.
