A dramatic house fire tore through a property in Faversham yesterday afternoon, 26 June, threatening neighbouring homes and triggering a massive emergency response.
Six fire engines, alongside specialist high-reach equipment and a bulk water carrier, raced to the scene on St Paul’s Road in Boughton under Blean just before 1:00 pm after a garden fence caught alight, rapidly spreading out of control and engulfing the main house.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus battled the spreading flames, which partially damaged adjacent properties.
Paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service rushed to the scene to treat two residents for suspected smoke inhalation as thick fumes filled the neighbourhood. While five crews remained on-site into the afternoon, damping down volatile hotspots, the Kent Fire and Rescue Service Volunteer Response Team has been deployed to the area to provide emergency support to families whose homes have been affected by the devastating blaze.
