Kent Fire and Rescue Service crews successfully put out a grassland fire in Gravesend earlier today.
Emergency services rushed to Church Road in the Gravesham district at 1:34 pm today 5 July, after reports of a grass fire. Two fire engines immediately attended the scene, where crews wore breathing apparatus and used specialist wildfire equipment, including beaters, flexible water packs, and a main hose jet to bring the flames under control.
Firefighters worked at the location for several hours, officially wrapping up the incident at 7:26 pm. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire, and the exact cause of the blaze remains unknown at this stage.
