Firefighters were called to action on Monday afternoon, 3 August, following reports of a field on fire near Ashford.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service was alerted to the blaze on Ashford Road in Sellindge at 14:41. Four fire engines, a bulk water carrier, and a fire fogging unit were dispatched to the scene to tackle the flames.
Crews worked for over an hour using high-pressure hose reel jets, flexi-packs, and beaters to bring the wildfire under control. The incident was successfully brought to a close by 15:58.
No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains unknown.
