Firefighters spent more than six hours tackling a significant blaze involving a field and a shed in the countryside near Tenterden over the weekend.
Emergency services were alerted to the incident on Smallhythe Road on Saturday afternoon, prompting a substantial response from local emergency services.
Three fire engines alongside a specialized bulk water carrier were deployed to the scene to assist in extinguishing the flames. Crews equipped with high-pressure hose-reel jets and dedicated wildfire kit worked systematically throughout the afternoon and evening to bring the fire under control and prevent further spreading across the dry land.
Engineers from the regional electricity network also attended to manage power safety in the immediate area, while paramedics were also dispatched to provide medical support. However, no injuries were reported as a result of the incident. The operation concluded later that night, and an investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
