Two suspected shoplifters from London have been arrested moments after clothing worth hundreds of pounds was stolen from a Maidstone retail park.
Proactive patrols detained the man and woman at 4.30pm on Tuesday 6 June 2023, after initially spotting a suspicious BMW which had been left unattended in Eclipse Park.
The suspects were stopped as they exited a Marks and Spencer store and enquires led to the recovery of several items, alleged to have been stolen from the shop and which were valued at around £350.
Charged
A man aged 32 from Bromley was charged with theft and remanded in custody to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 7 June.
A 32-year-old woman from Rotherhithe, was also charged with theft. She was bailed to appear at Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on 5 July.
