It has been reported a teenage girl was approached by a man who touched her leg while she was paddling in the sea at Viking Bay Broadstairs.

The girl moved away and the incident, said to have taken place at 2.30pm on Saturday 10 August 2024, was reported to lifeguards.

Police went to the scene and arrested a 33-year-old man from London. He has since been released on bail with conditions, pending further enquiries.

As part of their investigation, officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone who saw anything suspicious to come forward. Witnesses should call Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting 46/134275/24 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or complete their online form.
