A thirty-six-year-old man from Maidstone has appeared in court following the recovery of class A drugs, cash, and a knife in Gillingham.

Officers attended May Road on the afternoon of Wednesday 5 August following reports of a suspicious vehicle in the area. A pedestrian was detained at the scene, leading to a search that yielded quantities of cocaine and heroin alongside a mobile phone. A subsequent search of a local address uncovered a significant sum of cash, digital scales, and a knife.

The individual was subsequently charged with being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and heroin, as well as possessing both substances with intent to supply. He faces additional charges for possessing criminal property and possessing an offensive weapon in a private place.

Following an initial appearance at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday 7 August, the defendant was granted conditional bail ahead of his next hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday 4 September.
