A new seasonal market featuring live music and local traders is coming to Guildhall Street in Folkestone town centre on Saturday 26 March.

The artisan market from 10am until 3pm will feature a range of food and craft products from up to 15 local producers and makers as well as street food options.

The Kentish Spring Market is being operated by the organisers of the popular local Vegan Vibes market, on behalf of the district council which is accessing the government’s Welcome Back Fund to deliver the event.

Market visitors will also be entertained by live music performances from local musicians as they shop. The programme is being managed by businesses, Seaview Studio and The Chambers, under the Folkestone Music Town initiative and more information is available by visiting www.folkestonemusic.co.uk.

The music line-up is as follows:

10.30am         Duncan Morris

11.30am         Shepway Primary Singers and Shepway Youth Voices

12.30pm         Sam Dunn

1.30pm           Nina Clark

Cllr David Wimble,  Cabinet Member for the District Economy, said, “Following the success of our winter series of markets and performances, we’re delighted to be able to bring a Spring Market to the heart of the town centre this month.

“As part of our commitment to town centre regeneration, this is one of several initiatives we are undertaking to provide reasons to visit and to deliver really vibrant town centre experiences. This event enlivens this growing area of the town centre and also supports local businesses.”
