A parcel intercepted by officials at a distribution centre led to a man from Whitstable being arrested for drug offences.

The drugs, thought to be cannabis, were found in the parcel from America which was destined for an address in Whitstable.

Officials from Border Force informed Kent Police of the discovery.

Officers searched the property under the Misuse of Drugs Act on Sunday 10 July 2022 where they found more than £45,000 in cash, along with a large quantity of cannabis and class A drugs.

21-year-old man from Whitstable was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply and importing a controlled drug.

He has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
