CANTERBURY – A local family narrowingly escaped a house fire on St Julien Avenue yesterday, 21 February, after a blaze broke out in a second-floor bedroom.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) was alerted to the incident at 11:40 AM. Two fire engines were dispatched to the scene, where crews found the residents had already managed to evacuate the property.
Firefighters used specialized equipment including Breathing Apparatus, Hose Reel Jet and High-Pressure Fan to bring the situation under control quickly. While the physical fire was extinguished by 12:24 PM, the KFRS Volunteer Response Team remained on-site to provide emotional and practical support to the displaced family.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The exact cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
