FOLKESTONE — Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) rushed to a house fire in Sidney Street, Folkestone, yesterday evening, Sunday, 22 February.

Emergency services were alerted to the incident at 19:10. Three fire engines were dispatched to the scene, where crews discovered a fire in a bedroom. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a main jet and a local hydrant supply to extinguish the flames.

The incident was brought to a close by 20:27. One person was handed into the care of South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) paramedics at the scene. Following an initial investigation, the cause of the fire is believed to have been accidental and linked to a candle.
