GILLINGHAM — Firefighters rushed to Danes Hill in the early hours of Saturday morning after a skip blaze spread to an adjacent building. Kent Fire and Rescue Service received the emergency call at 04:35 on February 28, and promptly sent three fire engines to the scene.

Upon arrival, crews equipped with breathing apparatus worked quickly to contain the flames before they could further compromise the structure. Firefighters utilized both high-pressure hose reel jets and main jets to suppress the blaze, successfully bringing the incident under control in just under two hours.

It was confirmed that there were no reported injuries during the operation. The cause of the initial fire remains unknown and investigations are continuing.
