Come along to Lockmeadow Town Square today, Saturday 30 July, as it hosts the River Festival Stage with family activities, games and performances.
It is the ideal spot for spectators to enjoy the music of the day in a great location so close to the riverside, with its wide-open area and available parking.
The Maidstone River Festival is a free event, run and self-funded by local volunteers. With dressed up boats, raft races, fun and games for all the family. There will be illuminated boats in the evening and it will all end with a big bang as an award-winning fireworks display will go off from the top of Fremlin Walk in the town centre.
Cllr Claudine Russell, Lead Member for Leisure and Arts at Maidstone Borough Council said: “The River Festival kicks off the summer events programme at Lockmeadow which will be packed with events across the summer holidays. Council staff will also be asking people how they feel about living in Maidstone and encouraging them to complete the Resident Survey which is open until 4 September.”
Resident survey
Council staff will be on hand at Lockmeadow during the day as part of the Resident Survey. The survey gives all residents the opportunity to tell the Council about their experiences from housing to health and well-being, waste and recycling to the cost-of-living crisis. Resident’s viewpoints are extremely valuable and will help inform the decisions the Council makes. Take part in the survey now: https://letstalkmaidstone.uk.engagementhq.com/resident-survey-2022-2
