Kent Police are renewing their appeal for witnesses following a fatal collision on the Isle of Sheppey.
Around 11.20pm on Friday 30 January 2026, a grey Kia was travelling southbound on the A249 northbound carriageway in Sheppey, when it was involved in a collision with a BMW.
Patrols attended the scene along with South East Coast Ambulance Service and Kent Fire and Rescue Service but a woman in her 30s was confirmed deceased at the scene. Her next of kin has been informed.
Three people were admitted to hospital for further treatment which includes a woman who remains in a critical condition in a London hospital, and two men who are both in serious but stable conditions. The road was closed overnight whilst the incident was attended to but was reopened at around 8am on Saturday 31 January.
Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are carrying out enquiries and want to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or who saw the vehicles immediately before the collision. They are also appealing for anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.
